I have downloaded and installed the software, but it will not recognise that the usb is connected

I have now found the problem of why my computer does not see that the USB  is connected. On close inspection of the printer USB socket using a magnifying class,  have fond that the socket is damaged. I will try and remove the circuit board and replace said socket.
