I have an older HP Photosmart D7260 Printer, but it is new never been used. The printer setup cartridges have expired. Is there a way to setup the printer without these cartridges or a way to get new ones so that the printer can be setup.

Hi,
Cartridges for your printer can be purchased from link below.

Yes, I saw the cartridges for sale on the site. However, the printer can not be setup because it is asking for the setup cartridges and they have expired. Is there a way to bypass this and set the printer up without them?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
SETUP ink cartridges are used only to set up a new HP printer or printhead and supply ink for the first series of your print jobs. They are specially designed to initialize a printer and calibrate ink levels. SETUP cartridges cannot be used after the printer has been initialized. Remove and install non-SETUP cartridges.
Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

The printer has never been used so I would think that it hasn't been initialized yet so wouldn't I still need the setup cartridges? The printer has never been used or installed on any computer.
