While attempting to connect a wireless HP Envy 7800, I was prompted to enter a PIN # in order to add the HP Envy to my list of printers. I never heard of this but I was taken to an "HP Site" with an insistent Chat person who offered help. They asked permission to access mu laptop and downloaded a program to inspect what the issue might be. Like a dope, I granted permission. After searching my laptop, I was told that e Technicon" would be needed to solve my issue and that there would be fee associated. All this for an alleged Pin #. As mentioned I was a dope and terminated the session but remain wary of what may have been "planted" on my
laptop. So far, it seems OK but a warning should be issued on this matter.

That is not an HP website. HP's site is 123.hp.com
The site shown is noted for offering lots of help but demanding a bunch of money.
I have tagged the moderators on this post and someone from HP will likely contact you for more details as they are very proactive in protecting customers from fraudulent sites like this.
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.
