Attempting to print a 4x6 photo on the Envy 4500.  It only prints part of the photo.  All settings are correct (page size and photo size).  OS is Windows 11

Welcome to the HP Community --

This is an older model -- the software and applications that it uses are stable and have been available for a long time.

Some questions to help us understand what you are doing --

  1. Have you ever printed photos successfully with this printer?
  2. Have you ever printed 4x6 inch photos?
  3. Is the printer clean and ready to do its best work?  (Dirty printer can cause the rollers to drag.)
  4. Is the paper loaded correctly (for example, narrow ends front / back, print side down) ?  Reference  User Guide - HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One series   Load Media - Starting on Page 8
  5. Is the paper supported?  Type is important, of course - HP Photo paper, glossy -- is the paper Weight supported?  (Paper that is unsupported or too heavy can drag, balk, or jam.)
  6. Which application or software are you using?  For example >> HP Smart? Microsoft Photos?  Microsoft Print Pictures (formally Windows Photo Viewer), other Third Party photo editing / printing software?

IF the answers to the first questions are "Yes", then telling us about "app or software" you are using can help us figure out whether (and where) to (re)check the settings.

For example,

HP Smart - Windows - Simple Photo Print

The app uses one of two algorithms to print photos:

Crop - The shape of the original photo is made to fit the shape of the paper - One or more edges might be cropped when the shape is changed.

Shrink to Fit -  The entire photo is made to fit the paper -- No content is lost - The margins can be uneven.

Thank you.  HP was able to resolve the issue.  A combination of system/drive updates.
