Hi,
I have an HP Envy 5540 printer, set up on the wireless network and a PC with Windows 10. It was printing absolutely fine with no issues for something like a year, until the other day when I re-installed windows.
Now when I hit print, the job goes into the print queue but immediately changes to "deleting - spooling" and vanishes without printing.
I have tried re-installing drivers multiple times, also using the full HP install. The interesting thing is that if I Print a Test Page from within the HP Printer Assistant screen it prints absolutely fine. If I Print a Test Page from Windows Printers & Scanners area, nothing.
Help would be much appreciated as I am getting mad at this thing!
Kind regards,
Andy

@Dimreeper, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run the program. It will automatically diagnose and fix any printer connectivity issues.
For more information, go to https://support.hp.com/in-en/topic/printscandoctor
Delete job files and restart
Reset your printing environment, delete print job files manually, and then restart both the computer and the printer.
Turn off the printer using the power button and then unplug the printer power cord from the power outlet.
In Windows, search for and open Services.
In the Services window, right-click Print Spooler, and then select Stop.
After the service stops, close the Services window.
In Windows, search for and open C:Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS.
Delete all files in the PRINTERS folder.
Shut down your computer.
Connect the printer power cord to the power outlet, and then turn on the printer.
Turn on the computer, and then try to print. If the issue persists, continue to the next step.
Set up Manual IP
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer.
The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.
For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers.
Uninstall and Reinstall the printer driver
Follow the steps below:
1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2) Select your HP Printer
3) Select Uninstall
4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10) Select Ok
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12) Close Devices and Printers.
Once the uninstallation is complete, you can download and install the latest software from here.
Let me know the outcome.
Cheers 🙂
