Hello, I am having some issues with my printer and would like some help. Previously, when printing my documents, I was able to choose the print quality and how I wanted to print (whether it was single-sided or double-sided). However, recently I haven’t been able to set these preferences, as in the 'Printing Preferences' tab, I can only select the paper size (A4, A3, etc.). How can I fix this?

Hi @mfbonifacio,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2774 All-in-One Printer's print preferences may have been affected by a driver or settings issue. Here are some steps to help restore the missing options for print quality, duplex printing, and other preferences.
Verify Printer Driver
Ensure you have the latest HP printer driver installed, as outdated or generic drivers may not show all the options.
- Go to HP Support and download the latest driver for your printer model.
- After downloading, install the driver and restart your computer.
Reinstall Printer Driver
If your drivers are up to date but the issue persists, try reinstalling the printer:
- Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP DeskJet 2774 printer and select Remove Device.
- Disconnect your printer from the computer (either by USB or WiFi).
- Reinstall the printer drivers by reconnecting the printer or running the driver setup you downloaded.
Check Print Preferences via Application
Some applications have separate printing settings that may override the system’s print preferences. When printing a document:
- Open the print menu from the application you're using (e.g., Word, Chrome).
- Click on Properties or Preferences to access additional settings like print quality, duplex options, and more.
Use HP Smart App
If the issue persists, try configuring your print settings through the HP Smart app:
- Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store or HP website if you haven't already.
- Open the app and select your printer.
- Go to the Print Settings or Print Preferences section in the app to customize your print quality and other options.
Reset Print Settings (if applicable)
You can also reset the printing preferences:
- Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP DeskJet 2774 printer and select Printing Preferences.
- Click on the Advanced tab or button (if available).
- Look for an option to Restore Defaults and reset the settings to default values.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
