Thank you for posting this on HP Support Forums!
I see from your post you need assistance with HP Print and Scan Doctor. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
What exactly seems to be an issue with the printer?
Are you having issues while printing/scanning/copy?Do you get any error message on the printer screen or on the computer screen.
Should I remove the older version Print/Scan Dr. before installing the updated version? If you have any issues, you can definitely go ahead and uninstall the older version and install the latest version using this link.
Please follow these instructions:
Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to uninstall and reinstall HP Print and Scan Doctor:
-
In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
-
In the Uninstall or change a program window, select the program you want to remove from the list and click Uninstall or Uninstall/Change at the top of the program list.
