OJ 8710 printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP 8710 printer with Windows 10 installed.  I am trying to find the "original" print driver for the printer, but all I can find is a much cheaper/weaker version that only does 300 dpi with few features.  I'm looking for the FULL print, scan, etc driver that does up to 1200 dpi scanning/printing.

Any help?

Phil

FINALLY..!!!  I now have the "original/full driver".  That HP Smart(?) driver is #$%^.  A max scan value of 300 means fuzzy images!  Not good.

Thanks

Phil

Hi,

Have you installed the HP Full Feature Software? you should then have an HP Officejet Pro 8710 icon to launch the software, or do you use HP Smart?

Regardless, make sure the scan source is set as Flatbed Glass and not as Automatic Document Feeder (if loaded), the ADF supports up to 300 dpi only.

If not yet installed and you does not have your printer software, here is a link to the Full Feature Software:

To clarify, I have two computers.  The one I'm on had a hard-drive crash and I had to reinstall all of my software.  My wife's system works the way I want mine to work.  I was wanting to install the "Original driver for my 8710" but all I can find is the HP Smart version.  I tried your link and it "looked like the original", it turned out the be the HP Smart version also -- or my second install did not work correctly.??

I'm wanting the "original driver" since it has more options and higher quality printing/scanning.

Question:  If I had the HP Smart version already installed and tried to install the one you pointed me to, would it not work/over-ride HP Smart?  If not, what is the correct process for back-dating my driver?

Please follow HP Easy Start on this computer.

During the Software Selection screen be sure to select the HP Full Feature Software option, so it will upgrade your current driver with the other option:
