HP Smart has stopped printing on my OfficeJet Pro 8710 .  i reloaded HP Smart, updated the printer, but it will not install. Keeps saying no print driver available.

as of now, I have tried every fix to this problem I can find on this forum.  HP Smart still says no print driver available. 

I tried to download and install a different print driver that HP Smart, but at the end, it told me there was a better driver and directed me back to HP Smart.  

I have tried going back to a earlier restore point, but that did not help.  I have updated the Bios.  I have dug into Windows and removed old HP 8710 print driver bits. 

 

Now this problem is showing up on my wifes HP laptop. 

BTW_- I can print from my phone-- and I can see the printer and scan. 

 

Need some help.

Try these steps to re-install the printer driver - 

 

1. In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".

2. Look for HP Printer software.

3. Right-click to uninstall.

4. In the search box, type, and open “Devices and Printers”.

5. In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.

6. Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo. 

7. Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).

8. Click on the "Drivers" tab.

9. Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.

10. Select Ok.

11. Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.

12. Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.

13. Restart the computer.

14. Download and install the software and drivers from here.

15. Click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

I did all this last week from another thread on this subject, but I will do it again and let you know what happens.

Ran thru this delete sequence again, and I even deleted the HP9020 printer and drivers.  

 

again, HP Smart cannot find drivers, although I can scan, and print from my phone.

I really need this printer to work, as both myself and my wife work from home.

Hp smart Microsft default application which can be downloaded from Microsoft, 

 

steps are limited 

 

1: uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart 

2. check for windows updates 

3 . BIos needs to update

I have done that, as explained in my first post.  

 

I will update windows and Bios again, but you are telling me to do the same things I have already done.

As we have limited support boundaries in the support community 

 

We try to follow the  troubleshooting as per the document  

 

These will be the final steps

Is that an update to the printer firmware ??  IF so, I have done that also, and the printer works fine from my other HP laptop. 

 

BUT_- I will try it.

Page 132 of the HP8720 deals with sending and receiving faxes.   I am having problems with loading the print driver on my PC, not faxes.
