HP ENVY 6430e All-in-One Printer

I am trying to align the printhead, everytime i do it the paper starts to go into the printer, stops and then the yellow light at the side starts flashing.  I have tried everything that the help says but to no avail.  This is a brand new printer

If you're experiencing issues aligning the printhead on your HP ENVY 6430e All-In-One Printer and the yellow light is flashing, there might be a problem with the alignment process or the printer itself. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

 

  • Check for Obstructions: Make sure there are no obstructions inside the printer that could be causing the paper to jam. Inspect the paper path carefully, remove any stuck paper, and ensure there are no foreign objects blocking the way.
  • Load Paper Correctly: Ensure that you have loaded the paper correctly in the paper tray. The paper should be aligned properly and not overloaded.
  • Printer Reset: Sometimes, resetting the printer can help resolve issues. To do this, turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve performance issues.
  • Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges: Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP or counterfeit cartridges may cause problems with alignment and printing.
  • Clean the Printhead: Dirty or clogged printheads can cause alignment issues. You can typically find an option in the printer settings to clean the printhead. Run the printhead cleaning utility to see if it helps.
  • Check for Software Updates: Ensure that your printer driver and software are up to date. You can usually find the latest software and drivers on the HP website.
  • Alignment Process: When aligning the printhead, make sure you are following the printer's on-screen instructions carefully. Ensure that the alignment page is placed face down on the scanner glass as instructed. Make sure you have selected the correct paper size and type when prompted.
  • Manual Printhead Alignment: If the automatic alignment process continues to fail, you can try manually aligning the printhead. Look for an option in the printer's settings to manually align the printhead, and follow the instructions provided.
