HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I can print fine to my OfficeJet Pro 2028 from one Windows 11 PC to but not from my 2nd Windows 11 PC. Job seems to go far enough to wakeup the printer and it sounds like it is going to print but it does not. If I look at the queue quickly I see 1 job in the queue but this goes to 0 jobs without printing.

@Richard142, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Printer Connection

Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your second PC (or check the USB connection if you're using that).

Restart Devices

Turn off and on the printer and your second PC.

Check Printer Queue

Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.

Make sure the OfficeJet Pro 8028 is set as your default printer.

Open the Print Queue and cancel any stuck jobs.

Re-add Printer

Remove the printer from Printers & Scanners.

Add it again by clicking Add a printer.

Update Printer Drivers

Go to HP's support page and download the latest drivers for your printer.

Restart Print Spooler

Open the Services app (type services.msc in the search box).

Right-click Print Spooler and click Restart.

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
