No matter I do, printing is never aligned with my paper. I have tried everything: aligned printhead, different paper (200gsm, 90gsm, 120gsm...) but nothing works. Where could be the problem?

Hi @Sarah_Peterson,

Thank you for your response

Follow these steps carefully. After each step, print a simple test page and check alignment. If alignment improves, you may stop; if not, move to next.

Check paper and tray

Load paper straight and snug against the guides.

Make sure the paper size and type in the printer settings match what you loaded.

Use plain white paper for testing (like 90 gsm).

Update printer

In the HP app, check for firmware and driver updates.

Restart printer and computer after updating.

Align the printheads

On the printer: go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Align Printheads.

Let it print the alignment sheet.

Follow the screen or HP Smart app prompts to scan or confirm the sheet.

Clean and inspect

Run Clean Printheads from the same maintenance menu.

Open the top cover and make sure the print carriage moves smoothly.

Check rollers for dust or worn spots.

Test again

Print a simple page with a border.

If it’s still shifted, run alignment again.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you, but your advice was not helpful. The problem remains exactly the same.

As I already mentioned at the very beginning of this thread, I’ve tried aligning the printhead multiple times and have also performed printhead cleaning.

Where else could the issue be? What else can I try?

The printer is still under warranty.

Honestly, I’d prefer to return it and either get a replacement or my money back. I already had to send it in for repair this summer due to a printhead error — I was without a printer for over a month! That is completely unprofessional. During that time, I even had to pay to rent another printer. I

s this really the kind of user experience HP wants to offer its customers?

With the Canon printers I used before, I never had a single issue — and I used each of them daily for at least seven years.
