Hi,

The windows print spooler consumes till 25 % cpu and slowdow my system.

I checked the print queue which is empty, i reinstalled the HP driver and it does nothing.

My next try is a success, i think for the moment....

I uninstalled everything once more as described above, i choosed not to reinstall the HP smart app, i only installed the basic driver (OJ8720_Basicx64_40.12.1161.exe), after that i deleted the FAX part. I keep the HP software to the minimum.

At the time written, my printer is working, i can scan and everything is perfect, no more spooler consuming too much CPU.

On the support hp site, there is a firmwave update for my printer AND OF COURSE, it does not recognize my printer.

The HP quality is very low, please wake up !!!

@DNA_BSY Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the Print spooler consumes too high CPU with OfficeJetPro 8725.

First, let's uninstall the drivers from your computer-

uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
--->Select your HP printer.
--->Select Uninstall.
--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
--->Click on the Drivers tab.
--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
--->Select OK.
--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
--->Close Devices and Printers.

--->uninstall the HP Smart App from programs

And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from Software and drivers page(install HP Easy start which is under Software-utility)

I thank you but it's always consuming too much CPU.

Moreover, the installation failed to install all the features of my printer such as scan app.

The HP quality is very low.

I do not understand, at the beginning (after just buying my printer), all was ok, the HP app worked correctly , what happend after (hp update or windows 10 update)...

Now, it's a real mess, the Hp smart app wants me to use the ethernet connection while my printer is connected by USB cable... This hp smart proposes me to use the Windows store by using credential I DO NOT remember... While IT IS simple to download an application directly from HP. If i cannot setup my printer working, i will recommend to my client to not buy HP printer... Too complicated to start.

Thank you for your help.
