I was trying to reduce the font size on the printer and some how got to the language screen and have not been able to get out of it.  I have tried everything.  I wanted to try factory reset, but i cannot get out of the language screen.  I have everything possible.  Can you help?

Hi @calbuki

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP Printer 6958 is stuck on the language screen and unresponsive, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn the printer on, if it isn't already.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer while it is still on.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and reconnect it to the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

Attempt a Factory Reset:

  • If the printer remains stuck, try accessing the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering its IP address in a web browser (you can find the IP address on your router's connected devices list).
  • Look for the "Restore Factory Settings" option in the EWS menu.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest firmware for your printer model.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
