HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

This is my 3rd printer of this HP series of printers

This 9120e is constantly crashing and requires a reboot.

Using the fully up to date HP software but note this series ie 20e uses different screen layout and constantly fails to print requiring printer to be power recycled.

Are others experiencing the same

Hi @trevorbranch

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e is experiencing persistent issues despite using the latest software.

Here are some steps to address the crashing and printing problems:

1. Update Firmware

  • Visit the HP Support website to download the latest firmware for your printer. Firmware updates often resolve stability issues and improve performance.

2. Reinstall Drivers

  • Uninstall the current printer drivers from your computer.
  • Download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support page. Ensure you select the correct operating system version.

3. Reset Printer Settings

  • Perform a factory reset on your printer:
    • Access the printer's control panel and navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Settings.
    • This will clear any corrupted settings that might be causing crashes.

4. Assign a Static IP Address

  • If the printer frequently disconnects, assign a static IP address through your router's admin page. This can prevent network-related issues.

5. Test with Another Device

  • Try connecting the printer to a different computer or smartphone to rule out compatibility issues with your current device.
