When the printer assistant opens it opens to full screen or maximized.

I need it to open in the minimized state.  I've tried everything I've found on the internet but nothing has worked.

Does anyone know how to force it to open to a minimized screen?

Printer works just fine.  No issues.

Thanks,

Pokeycat

This did indeed used to be the case for the Printer Assistant (shortcut icon on the Desktop named for the printer).

Whether or not you can get around the "full" max screen when opening the printer software depends on the printer and the version of the printer software for your particular printer (not specified).

What is going on?

My opinion (based on having investigated the subject a few years ago):

There is an html handler that controls the display of the software (GUI - Graphic User Interface) - this handler cannot be separated from the printer software.    It is either the right kind (not maximized when you open the software) or it is the version that displays the software (when first opened) as full screen.

Not much of an answer - you cannot likely have what you want - but there it is.
