My printer assisant suddenly "disappeared."
Print and Scan Dr. says everything is okay.
When I go to open the Printer Assistant, it takes me to the screen below. I have basic functionality from the printer itself, but need the Printer Assistant for essential day to day tasks- which is why I bought this printer in the first place!
I would really appreciate some help getting the Printer Assistant back.
Thank you!

Hello and thank you for replying. I did get the printer functioning properly yesterday, but didn't remove the drivers, so am hoping that won't cause issues. If it does, I will come back here and follow all the steps you have outlined so well. Thanks again!
Oh, one more question- the HP Print and Scan Dr. always finds three instances of that exact same exact printer when using that utility, two with different IP addresses. Should I leave them alone, or is there some way of removing those? It's confusing, because I'm not seeing them anywhere else on my computer.

I tried the solution offered, but it did not work. The problem is that the software and the drivers are not being installed. I can see the printer OK, but the drivers did not get installed (printui.exe) Also, looking at the folders in Program Files shows that the folders are empty. I tried downloading the software and drives and also tried from the disk that came with the printer. From the way that the installer works, i.e., if it finds a component already installed, it skips that component, I suspect that something in the registry shows the basic software and drivers are alreaady present.
