Product: Envy 6458e All In One Printer

Issue: Printer Can Not Print error on Mac OSX HP Smart App; thus unable to do cartridge alignment

This is by far the most frustrating product ever in my entire life. I signed up for HP Smart already, technician already sent me a replacement catridge but I'm still getting the error in the app. Which led to unable to do cartridge alignment. I uninstall HP Smart App, Reset the printer, replaced new catridge already, paid HP for HP Ink Smart. Not of it doesn't work.

How to resolve this? If I don't hear back I'm returning this POS.

Hi @jimmymoo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you are encountering a "Cannot Print" error with your HP printer on your Mac OSX when using the HP Smart app, there are several steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  • Check printer status: Ensure that your printer is turned on and has paper and ink or toner cartridges.
  • Restart the printer: Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart the HP Smart app: Close the app completely and restart it. Check for any updates for the app.
  • Check for software updates: Ensure that your Mac OSX and the HP Smart app are up to date.
  • Check printer connection: Make sure that your printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network and that your Mac is also connected to the same network. Try restarting your Wi-Fi router.
  • Remove and re-add the printer: Remove your printer from the HP Smart app and re-add it.
  • Reset the printing system: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click on the printer, and select "Reset Printing System". This will remove all printers and scanners from your list, so you will need to add them again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
