Hi, I have an issue with my printer, similar to the pasted link below, which worked for the person connected at the time:

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out
As I understand the device isn't installing the printer driver due to the message - "unsigned printer driver",
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Have you attempted to change the user access control (UAC) settings on the user account, disable it and check if this works?
- If not, please do and let me know how it works.
While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, use this link to access the HP website, find the drivers compatible with your windows and install it: Click here
Keep me posted,
For I (Or a trusted colleague) shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,
And your device is up and running again, if you don't get back to us
that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

I am an HP Employee
I have followed the guidance sequence until I get to number 10, at which point a pop-up says "Cannot uninstall driver as it is being used" (or similar). Can anyone help further on from this please? I am beginning to think that the device is no longer supported which shouldn't really be the case.
ps. at present, the device is available in Printers And Devices, but is showing the driver as "unavailable"
Many thanks in advance.
