Hello everybody,
Good day! I am reaching out to seek clarification regarding the term "Duty Cycle" as used in the datasheet for the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw.
Above is the Duty Cycle spec, to my understanding, this means the printer have a MONTHLY duty cycle of up to 50,000 pages as well as a recommended page volume of 750 to 4000. The datasheet is from here.
Above are the technical details of the printer found here. This time, terminologies are separated and it is clearly defined.
However, another party interprets this specification differently, claiming that the 50,000-page duty cycle refers to the printer's total lifetime impression capacity, not a monthly figure.
Could you please help clarify which interpretation is correct? This information is crucial for us as we base our purchasing decisions primarily on the Monthly Duty Cycle (MDC) while also considering the recommended monthly page volume.
Maybe somebody from HP Support could help us? Thank you!

Duty cycle is defined as the maximum number of pages per month of imaged output. This value provides a comparison of product robustness in relation to other HP LaserJet or HP Color LaserJet devices, and enables
appropriate deployment of printers and MFPs to satisfy the demands of connected individuals or groups.
