HP ENVY 5032 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My printer will not copy, or scan, or print an alignment page. It will print from my PC and mobile device no problem. The printer is 7.5 years old now. I have tried uninstalling printer and software and reinstalling printer and software but the problem still exists. I can find no solution in the Smart App or in any of the support troubleshooting. Can anyone please help?

We understand how frustrating it is when your HP ENVY 5032 All-in-One Printer won’t copy, scan, or print an alignment page, especially when it still prints from your PC and mobile device without issue. You’ve already taken all the right steps, and we’re here to help you move forward.

Recommended Steps to Troubleshoot

1. Perform a Full Power Reset

This can clear internal errors:

  • Turn off the printer
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet
  • Wait 60 seconds
  • Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips)
  • Turn the printer back on


2. Check Scanner Functionality

  • Open the scanner lid and place a document
  • Try to copy using the printer’s control panel
  • If the scanner light doesn’t move or illuminate, the scanner hardware may be failing


3. Update Firmware

4. Run HP Print Quality and Copy Diagnostics

Use the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant:

  • Open the app
  • Select your printer
  • Go to Tools > Printer Maintenance > Print Quality Toolbox
  • Run Copy Diagnostics and Scan Test


5. Check for Alignment Page Blockage

If the printer won’t print an alignment page:

  • Open the cartridge access door
  • Ensure cartridges are properly seated
  • Check for any paper jams or obstructions
