HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer

Printer is suddenly spitting out the random set up messages  from HP every morning without prompting.  Congratulations your printer is  are now connected  etc...but multiple copies  of same welcome page along with other random files like calendars from December 2015. It happens overnight. We have been set up for year so not  a new app. Printer is getting on in age so maybe its just glitching out?

Hi @Barner ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like your HP ENVY 4520 All-In-One Printer is experiencing some unexpected behavior. There are a few potential reasons for this issue, and here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Update Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Visit the HP support website and search for your printer model to find the latest firmware updates. Follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.

Check for Software Updates:

  • Make sure that your printer software on the connected computer is up-to-date. Visit the HP website or use the HP Printer Assistant software to check for updates.

Reset Network Settings:

  • If your printer is connected to a network, try resetting the network settings. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and reinstall them. Make sure to download the latest drivers from the official HP website.

Check for Malware or Viruses:

  • Perform a thorough scan of your computer for malware or viruses. Sometimes, unwanted programs can interfere with the normal operation of devices.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, you may consider performing a factory reset on your printer. This will restore the printer to its default settings. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
