Printer HP DeskJet 2725 prints blank pages. Opened black ink cartridge today.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2725 is printing blank pages, even after opening the black ink cartridge, 

here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
 

Check Ink Cartridge Installation: Ensure the black ink cartridge is properly installed and seated correctly in the printer. Remove and reinsert it to make sure it’s in place.

Inspect the Ink Cartridge: Verify that the ink cartridge is not empty and that the protective tape has been removed. Also, check for any leaks or damage.

Perform a Printhead Cleaning: Go to the printer’s settings on your computer:

  • Open the HP Smart app or Printers & Scanners settings.
  • Select your printer and choose the option for Maintenance or Printer Services.
  • Look for an option to clean the printhead or perform a cleaning cycle.

Check for Ink Smears: Print a test page or diagnostic page to check if there’s any ink coming through. Sometimes, ink smears or streaks can help identify which color is problematic.

Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers for your printer. You can download them from the HP Support website. 

Perform a Printer Reset: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Paper Settings: Ensure the paper type and size settings in the printer software match the paper you're using.
