I am having an issue with this printer, it is connected by LAN Cable and when i try to printing it takes a long time before it actually prints, or sometime won't print  until the printer is switched off and back on.

@ZILAIR, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Delayed Printing Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Experiencing delays in printing or having to turn off and on your printer to begin printing are issues that can often be resolved through some basic troubleshooting steps. Here's a guide to help you address these problems:

Possible Causes and Solutions

Printer’s Busy with Other Tasks:

  • Solution: Check if the printer is performing another task such as copying or scanning. Your print job will be delayed until those tasks are finished. Some complicated print jobs can also take a while to process.

Pending or Cancelled Print Jobs in the Queue:

  • Solution: A print job left in the queue after it has been canceled can cause delays. Check your computer’s printer folder, delete any stalled jobs in the queue, and clear any canceled jobs.

Ensure Printer is Set as the Default Printer:

  • Solution: Make sure your printer is set as the default printer in your system settings. Incorrect printer selection might lead to delays or non-printing.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Solution: Verify that the LAN cable connection is secure and that the wireless network, if applicable, is stable and connected. Ensure you have chosen the correct network printer in your printer settings.

Printer Driver Status:

  • Solution: Check if the printer driver and firmware are up-to-date. Outdated drivers can cause communication issues and delays.

Printer Error Messages:

  • Solution: Review any error messages on the printer display or status reports via the HP Solution Center to see if they indicate specific issues.

Paper Jam or Carriage Issues:

  • Solution: Inspect the printer for paper jams or carriage stalls. Ensure the print carriage moves freely. Remove any obstructions if necessary.

Reset the Printer:

  • Solution: Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This could resolve temporary errors affecting the printer’s performance.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
