HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer
Android 9.0 Pie

Please help. Tech Support is useless. I got my Uncle's printer after he passed away. I finally got his account closed. And the serial number of the printer removed, he had an hp+ account. I created a new account that was a regular HP account. But every time I add this printer. It turns into an HP+ printer.  I have issues printhing wired and wifi direct from my Android phone. The problem is I live in a rural area. There is not even Wi-Fi available. I cannot get this printer reversed from an HP+  I don't understand why if somebody that had an HP+ printer and dies, why can't HP erase that printer out of their system. Long story short, is there anyway to revert back to a regular printer or should I just go Office Space on it and break it into a million pieces, then never purchase a single HP product ever

New Member,

I am sorry for your loss.  Losing family is tough.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer  is a nice printer - lots of features.

This particular printer is likely not the best product for your situation.

HP+ is a service governed by a contract that extends the warranty in exchange for certain requirements.

  • The printer can only use new and genuine HP Ink products
  • The printer must remain on the network / Internet to be monitored as part of the service.

True - Reversing the contract might not be possible.

Use of the word "might" is deliberate -- I do work for HP and cannot speak to HP decisions or legal documents.

What to do?

If you have not done so, Contact HP+ Support.

Hate everything...

Whether or not you use HP products based on this experience is up to you, of course.

It might be true that this situation cannot be bent to accommodate what you need.

If there is any way to safely recycle or give away the printer,  please do that instead of having it taken to a land fill.

What?

Our mountain cabin was in a rural area -- we did have recycle and donation services about twelve miles away -- consider making the effort if it can be done in your area.
