Hi @OUBobcats,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP ENVY Photo 7858 printer. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the problem.
Check Physical Connections:
- Make sure that all cables connecting the printer to your computer or network are securely plugged in.
- Ensure that the printer is powered on.
Network Connection:
- If you are using a wireless connection, check if your printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network. You might need to re-establish the connection.
- Restart your router to ensure a stable network connection.
Printer Status:
- On your computer, go to the "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & Scanners" section in the Control Panel or Settings.
- Right-click on your HP ENVY Photo 7858 printer and ensure that it is set as the default printer.
- If it shows as offline, right-click and select "Use Printer Online."
HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app and check if the printer is detected.
- Make sure the app shows your printer as online. If not, there might be an issue with the connection.
Restart Devices:
- Restart both your computer and the printer. This can often resolve communication issues.
Update Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your printer installed. Visit the official HP website and download the latest drivers for your specific printer model.
Firewall/Antivirus:
- Check if your firewall or antivirus software is blocking the printer. Temporarily disable them and see if the issue persists.
HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor again. Ensure that it completes the process without any errors. If it identifies and fixes issues, try printing again.
Firmware Update:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve connectivity problems.
Reinstall Printer:
- Remove the printer from your computer's printer list and reinstall it using the latest drivers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
