I have the CP2025 and run Catalina (MAC). Previously my printer was saying it was having a filter issue. I reinstalled and reinstalled the printer but now it is putting the file in the queue and then it disappears, it does not print and the printer status goes idle. I am not sure if it is just an old printer in need of an upgrade or what. I already restarted both, replaced cartridges, replaced wires. Any help?

This seems to be a broad outage relating to many older HP printer models on most version of MacOS.
I am seeing this on a Macbook Pro and a Macbook Air, one running MacOS 10.15.7 and the other MacOS 10.14.6.
I've tried all of the usual troubleshooting suggestions, including power down and reboot, removing and re-installing the printer, re-setting the printing system, downloading the latest HPPrinterDrivers5.1.dmg from HP, etc.

@Bitzy1912, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
HP Color LaserJet CP2025 Printer is not supported with macOS 10.15 Catalina. The printer driver for macOS 10.15 Catalina is not available from the HP website or Apple Software Update. However, Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.
NOTE: Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.
