My office Jet Pro 9010 will not work.  In settings it shows not connected,.  I spent over 1 hour on the phone with Microsoft Reference # [edited] and then another hour with adobe .  After this time and them troubleshooting the issue I was able to use the printer and print from Acrobat and any other program.  Once I turned off my HP Computer and restarted it today, the issue is back,.  I cannot print from Word or Acrobat.

This is very frustrating and aggravating. I need help and would appreciate a phone call, or an email my contact info with HP is on file

Hi @lensic

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I can understand how frustrating it must be to have your OfficeJet Pro 9010 working one day and then showing “Not Connected” after a restart. Thank you for the time and effort you’ve already invested with Microsoft and Adobe—it shows real persistence.

Let’s go through some steps together to stabilize the connection so you don’t have to repeat this cycle each time you restart your computer.

1. Power Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Power the printer back on and check the network status.

2. Verify Network Connection

  • On the printer’s control panel, open Wireless Settings.
  • Confirm the printer is connected to the same Wi‑Fi network as your computer.
  • If disconnected, run Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect.
  • Print a Network Configuration Page to confirm the IP address.

3. Re-add the Printer in Windows

  • On your HP computer, open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • If the printer shows “Not Connected,” remove it by clicking Remove Device.
  • Click Add a printer or scanner and let Windows detect the printer.
  • If it doesn’t appear, select The printer that I want isn’t listed and add it using the printer’s IP address.

4. Clear Print Queue

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right‑click your printer and select See what’s printing.
  • Cancel all jobs to clear any stalled tasks.
  • Try printing again from Word or Acrobat.

5. Update Printer Firmware

  • Open the HP App on your computer.
  • Select your printer, go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Firmware Update.
  • Install any available updates to ensure compatibility with Windows and Adobe software.

6. Run Diagnose & Fix

  • In the HP App, select your printer.
  • Choose Diagnose & Fix and follow the guided steps.
  • This tool automatically checks for and corrects common connectivity issues.

7. Test Printing

  • After completing the above steps, try printing a test page from Word and Acrobat.
  • If successful, restart your computer once more to confirm the connection persists.

These steps should help restore a stable connection between your OfficeJet Pro 9010 and your HP computer. If the issue reappears after another restart, let me know whether the printer shows as offline in Windows or disconnected on the printer’s control panel—we can then narrow down whether it’s a Windows driver issue or a network setting on the printer itself.
