I have my Printer’s PIN number but when I try to use on my HP account dashboard it says the pin is incorrect. I’ve entered it so many times and for some reason it is not working. HP wants to charge me $30 to “fix” it. Any ideas would be appreciated 🙂

Hi @angiecan281, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like there might be a mismatch between the PIN you're entering and the one linked to your HP account. Here are a few things to try to resolve the issue:
Check for Typos: Make sure there are no accidental spaces or extra characters when entering the PIN.
Double-check the PIN: If possible, verify the PIN by checking your printer's screen or settings where the PIN is displayed.
Log Out and Log Back In: Log out of your HP account and log back in. Then, try entering the PIN again.
Reset the Printer's PIN: If the PIN is still not working, try resetting it on your printer's control panel (if the option is available) and then attempt to link it again.
Generate a New PIN: If the PIN has expired, you might need to generate a new one. You can usually do this through the printer's control panel or by printing a network configuration page.
Update Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues.
Reinstall HP Smart App: Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app on your device. This can sometimes resolve issues with PIN recognition.
Check Network Settings: Ensure your printer is connected to the correct network and that there are no issues with your Wi-Fi connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
