Hi @PaulKemp,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Color LaserJet MFP M182-M185 printer is printing multiple "Content length reports" every time you turn it on to print something, there might be an issue with the printer's settings or configuration. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Make sure that the printer settings are configured correctly. Check if there are any settings related to printing reports or diagnostic information on startup.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer model. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause unusual behavior. Visit the HP official website and look for firmware updates for your printer model.

Reset to Default Settings:

  • Reset the printer to its default settings. This can sometimes clear any unusual configurations that might be causing the repeated reports to print.

Disable Diagnostic Printing:

  • Some printers have options to print diagnostic or configuration reports. Check if there's an option to disable these reports from printing automatically.

Network Configuration:

  • If the printer is connected to a network, check its network configuration settings. Sometimes network-related issues can cause unexpected behavior.

Paper Tray Configuration:

  • Ensure that the paper tray settings are correct and that the printer is set to use the appropriate paper size and type.

Print Queue Issues:

  • If you're printing from a computer, check the print queue on your computer. There might be multiple print jobs queued up that are causing the reports to print multiple times.

Driver Reinstallation:

  • If you're printing from a computer, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer drivers. Corrupted drivers can sometimes lead to unusual printing behavior.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
