Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 printer.

Its rollers are rolling continuously, I tried restarting the printer multiple times but the issue still persists. Kindly help me what to do to stop them and resume regular printing.

Hi @GauravK6,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Continuous roller movement in an HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 printer can indicate a few potential issues. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer’s paper input tray and check for any stuck paper or obstructions.
  • Check the output tray and inside the printer for any paper jams.

Inspect the Rollers:

  • Open the access door to the ink cartridges and look at the rollers.
  • Ensure that there are no foreign objects or bits of paper causing obstruction.

Clean the Rollers:

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to clean the rollers. Do not use alcohol or any other cleaning solution.
  • Rotate the rollers manually while cleaning to ensure you cover all areas.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a hard reset by holding down the power button for about 10-15 seconds, then release it.
  • Allow the printer to complete its reset process and see if the issue is resolved.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the printer settings on your computer are not causing the rollers to move continuously. Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause continuous movement.

Firmware Update:

  • Ensure that the printer’s firmware is up to date. Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
