Whenever I attempt to enter a serial number for my HP ENVY Photo 7134 I get a message that the serial number is invalid. I am trying to get a "connected" printer which has been set up properly to connect to a Samsung tablet but it keeps asking for a certificate to be renewer. I answer Accept but no printing takes place

Hi @Bemac1952,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're facing two separate issues with your HP ENVY Photo 7134 printer: the invalid serial number message and connectivity problems with your Samsung tablet. Here are some steps to troubleshoot each issue.

Invalid Serial Number

  • Double-check the Serial Number: Make sure you are entering the serial number correctly. It's typically located on the back or bottom of the printer, or you can find it in the printer's settings menu.
  • Use HP Support: Visit the HP Support website and enter your printer model to verify if the serial number is correct or if there are known issues with the model.
  • Check for Typos: Ensure there are no extra spaces or incorrect characters when entering the serial number.

Printer Connection and Certificate Renewal

  • Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that your printer and Samsung tablet are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues. You can update the printer's firmware through the HP Smart app or the printer's web interface.
  • Reinstall HP Smart App: Uninstall and then reinstall the HP Smart app on your tablet. This can resolve issues related to app configurations.
  • Renew Certificate: If prompted to accept a certificate renewal, ensure that you are connected to a secure network. After accepting, try restarting both your printer and tablet.
  • Reset Network Settings on Printer: Go into the printer settings and reset the network settings. Reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network and try printing again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your assistance. I have discovered while trying to uninstall/install the HP Smart app that the software is incompatible with the device. I will leave it at that as it is not essential to have prining available from the tablet. Once again thanks for the assistance.
