I was given an HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e printer and I cannot get it set up to be able to print. Does anyone have tips?

Setting up your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e printer can involve several steps, including hardware setup, software installation, and connecting to your network. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you get your printer up and running:

 

Step 1: Unbox and Setup Hardware

Unbox the Printer:

  • Remove the printer from its packaging and remove all tape and protective materials.

Connect Power and Turn On:

  • Plug in the power cord and connect it to the printer and a power outlet.
  • Turn on the printer by pressing the power button.

Install Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Insert the provided ink cartridges into their corresponding slots and close the door.

Load Paper:

  • Pull out the input tray and load it with paper.
  • Adjust the paper width guides to fit the paper size.

Step 2: Connect to Network

  1. Use the Printer Control Panel:
    • On the printer's touch screen, select your language, country, and other preferences.
    • Go to the network setup option (typically found under the "Wireless" or "Network" menu).
    • Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password if prompted.

Step 3: Install Printer Software

Download HP Smart App:

  • Download the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. The app is available for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
  • You can download it from the HP Smart website or your device's app store.

Install and Set Up:

  • Open the HP Smart app and create or sign in to your HP account.
  • Click on "Add Printer" and follow the on-screen instructions to detect and connect your printer to the app.

Please find the next set of steps below.  

 

Step 4: Add Printer to Your Computer

Windows:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Click on "Add a printer or scanner" and follow the prompts to add your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e.

Mac:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click the plus (+) button to add a printer. Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e from the list and click "Add".

Step 5: Print a Test Page

Print from HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Select your printer and choose a document or photo to print as a test.

Print from Computer:

  • Open a document or image on your computer.
  • Select File > Print, choose the HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e as your printer, and print a test page.

Troubleshooting Tips

Ensure Network Connectivity:

  • Make sure your printer and computer/mobile device are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • If you encounter connectivity issues, try restarting your router, printer, and computer.

Update Firmware and Drivers:
