Printer - So Frustrating - IDLE, NOT CONNECTED, ASLEEP

I haven't been able to print for 2 weeks. I have done all the unplugging and replugging. Turning off and turning back on. Tried downloading driver...won't let me. It tells me something different each time. Idle...Not Connected...Asleep. I'm so frustrated! A new printer is in my future. And it won't be HP!

If you provide more specific details, like printer model, windows system, error messages it could be easier to provide instructions to solve the printer issues.

Thank you for volunteering to help others. I have a Deskjet 4100e using Windows 11. I also tried doing the Windows+R method as mentioned in another post.
