HP9010 suddenly stopped printing wirelessly, but will print using hardwire.  Error code 0x000003e3 says "I/O operation aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request".

I've been going around in circles with virtual assistants.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Hi @rac68

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

It sounds like an issue with the print driver installed on your computer. Use the method below to remove existing print drivers from your computer:

Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and the computer is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Windows software:

Check for Firmware Updates

  1. Visit the HP Support website: Go to the HP Support page relevant to your printer model. https://support.hp.com/au-en/products
  2. Find firmware updates: Look for any available firmware updates for your printer model. https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
  3. Download and install: Follow the instructions to download and install the latest firmware. This can potentially resolve issues caused by outdated firmware.

Remove and Reinstall Ink Cartridges

  1. Open the printer's cartridge access door: Wait until the printer is idle and silent before proceeding.
  2. Remove the ink cartridges: Carefully remove all ink cartridges from their slots.
  3. Check for debris or obstructions: Inspect the cartridge slots for any dust or obstructions.
  4. Reinsert the ink cartridges: Ensure the cartridges are firmly seated in their slots.
  5. Close the cartridge access door: Make sure the door is closed securely.

Restart devices

  • Restart your computer and printer to clear any error states.
  • Press the Power button to turn the printer off.
  • If the printer does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power source.
  • Turn the printer on.

Remove and re-add printer

  • Remove the printer from Printers & scanners and HP Smart, and then re-add the printer using the HP App. https://www.hp.com/us-en/hp-app/overview.html
  • In Windows, search for and open Printers & scanners.
  • Select the printer, and then click Remove device.
  • Open the HP Smart app, right-click the printer, and then select Hide Printer.
  • Re-add the printer in the HP Smart app.
  • After the printer displays in Printers & scanners, the driver will be installed.
  • Try to print.

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
