I have an inkjet 4220e printer. When I bought it, unpacking I noticed the glass was broken in the box. I returned it and they fixed it. The problem is that they did not include the boot cartridge when they gave it back to me. So I cannot finish set up. And the store is NOT at all helpful.   Is there a way I can get a new boot cartridge or finish set up another way?

You’re absolutely right to feel frustrated. HP DeskJet 4220e printers require SETUP cartridges to complete the initial setup, and unfortunately, these cartridges are unique. They cannot be purchased in stores or replaced with standard ones.
 

That said, you do have two options moving forward:
 

Option 1: Return the printer to the store of purchase and request a replacement. The new printer will include the correct setup cartridges, allowing you to complete the installation.
 

Option 2: If you already have genuine HP regular cartridges, we can use those to bypass the setup error and bring the printer back online.
