I have this printer that does show up and is usable for printing and works normally. It is just does this printer can't be registered in HP Smart Account. It also doesn't have Advanced Settings which the feature is not available.
Actually, my first purpose is to disable the HP Cartridge Protection because I have this ink that I bought from a student(which I assumed he bought it from shopping online platform). In the HP Smart app shows that it has error called "Cartridge Problem". I just assumed this ink cartridge is like a copy or pirated eventhough the packaging is new but the gold connection on the ink cartridge is worn-out a bit. So, my solution that I want to try is to disable the Cartridge Protection from Advanced Settings which doesn't available. Not even Printer home or EWS page.
I hope some can help me because there is only one discussion about this printer in this community so I hope there is a solution for my problem. Next time, I will buy a wireless printer one or buy other brands that doesn't have this Cartridge Protection thing. And also next time I don't buy ink cartridge from a stranger or online and just buy it from a physical shops... Also, this printer I bought from AEON mall which have two model of HP printer which one is wired and other one is wireless.

Hi @Khazarul_Aizzat,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that you're facing issues with your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2336 All-In-One Printer, particularly regarding the registration in the HP Smart Account and the inability to access Advanced Settings to disable Cartridge Protection.
Let's address the issues step by step.
1. Registration in HP Smart Account:
- Ensure that you are using the latest version of the HP Smart app. If not, update the app to the latest version.
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updates can address compatibility issues and add new features.
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet during the registration process.
2. Advanced Settings and Cartridge Protection:
- Some printers may not have an option to disable Cartridge Protection through the printer settings. However, you can try the following alternative.
- EWS (Embedded Web Server):
- Open a web browser and enter your printer's IP address in the address bar. You can find the IP address by printing a network configuration page from the printer.
- Navigate to the "Settings" or "Tools" tab and look for any options related to cartridge protection. If not available, it might not be a feature of your specific printer model.
Additional Tips:
- Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Using third-party or refilled cartridges might lead to issues, including the "Cartridge Problem" error.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
