HP LaserJet Pro M15w Printer

I have an HP LaserJetPro M15w printer.  It has been working just fine for nearly 4 years.  I have a MacBookAir with the Sequoia 15.0.1 OS, which was recently installed. When I go to the HP Support site I am unable to download any drivers.  It shows there is one driver available, but it won't download it.  My MacBookAir will not recognized the printer.  I am connected Mac to Printer by USB cable-not wi-fi.  My Mac will not recognize the printer and I cannot add it. I am at a loss as to what to do.  I have talked to Apple and to HP and personally I think that this new Apple OS is not recognizing the HP printer and that the driver available to my printer is not compatible with the Sequoia OS.  Any suggestions?  I feel I will have to purchase a new printer.  I have been trying to see if I could find and download a universal printer driver, but all I seem to get  is the old "runaround" by both Apple and HP.  If I buy a new printer how do I know that it will work with this new Apple OS? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @jay647,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

Apologies. The current version of your Mac Sequoia 15.0.1 is the latest, hence you may not have drivers for your printer until further update.

However, you may want to try Mac built-in driver: CLICK HERE

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Thank you for your reply,  I looked at the proposed solution and tried it.  I found out that there was much more to solving this problem than I thought.  With help from my daughter, I am 77 years old, I was able to get the printer working.  The real problem ended up being related to my router and finding out how to get the WPS2 password required to enable  it to recognize the printer.  I am old school and I just don't see why it now seems that all printers are more or less wireless-not USB.  Why?  A USB connection makes installation quick and easy.  It took me over 6 hours to finally get my printer working.  I dread having to buy a new printer at some point and getting it connected to my WiFi.  It should not be like this-IMHO.  There are a lot of different routers and WiFi networks and they are not all the same.

Thank you for your attempt to help.  I am somewhat disappointed with both HP and Apple.  It came down really to myself and my daughter to find the solution to my problem.  I still do not understand the way some things work-to me and at my age (77) it just seems very complicated at times to try to find answers to things that should be relatively easy-and I am sure to a lot of people they are.  I feel like I am sort of "out of touch". with some of the aspect of technology that are in place and common in today's world-and I realize that Apple and HP can't do anything about this.
