HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw - Out of the blue the printer doesn't show up, says driver unavailable. Tried to install new driver, which failed. Tried to install full software and driver, which failed. No idea what happened or what to do.

I am guessing that a Windows update replaced the driver with a generic one that does not work.

Run the following app from the command line

printui /s

Remove all references to the HP printer.

Install the full feature driver and then search for the printer. You must have the full feature driver. This search may fail if the printer is in Wi-Fi direct mode and not connected to the router.
