Since OS Big Sur, printer needs different drivers.  Is HP going to provide for new Apple OS?

I have done all the suggested helps and still cannot print! Can scan and photocopy! What gives??

Do I have to buy a new printer? My HP 1013 was working excellently!!!

I agree.  I have a HP LaserJet 1320 and it's been my workhorse.  Now it's trash since HP won't develop a new driver for OS 11?

It will be the last HP product I ever purchase if that's the case.

Hi @Tiger38 , @TAUSC ,

Try following below version of the HP Easy Start Utility:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/ASU/HP_Easy_St...

As soon as you open HP Easy Start, click the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software...
Read any warnings that display, and then click Continue. When prompted, type your administrator user name and password and follow the steps on screen.
Click Set Up New Device, and then follow the instructions to reinstall your printer with HP Easy Start and check if that may work.

If you experience any issues, open HP Easy Start again, from the HP Easy Start menu select Preferences.
Click on HP Easy Start.log and the log folder will launch, please reply me back via a Private Message with the log content attached.. please let me know if you experience any difficulties to access private messaging.

Hello Shlomil-

Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm able to print from my iPhone, using the HP Smart app, but have been unable to get my Macbook (Big Sur) to do likewise. HP Smart identifies the Envy 114 (see attached images), but alerts me that I still need to install the printer. I've tried everything I can think of to do so, via WiFi and USB. Continually, Mac OS (printer preferences) is waiting for me to install the correct driver: it doesn't seem to want to use anything generic. Do you have any suggestions as to where to go from here?

Also, I have a Samsung SCX-4500W laser printer that I'm also trying to install, with zero success on either my iPhone or Macbook.

I'm new to this forum and can't tell whether you're an employee or just a very active (and helpful) participant, but I'd like to know if the HP Smart apps are basically designed to replace drivers, especially for older printers like mine (10 years).

Final comment: the HP Smart app on my phone alerts that I need to connect with the HP Setup network in my WiFi, but  it doesn't exist. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help!

Hi @Ortho78,

I’m an expert sharing my knowledge as I can, I’m not an HP Employee.

HP Smart is intended for later printer models and it does not meant to replace the driver for older models as an HP Envy 110 printer.

Please follow HP East Start as listed on my previous post, it should be able to install your printer driver successfully.

Please let me know the results, or the log information if you’re getting any issues during the process.

One completing the install you should be able to print and scanning should be done with HP Easy Scan.

For Samsung printers I personally don’t have the knowledge so no much to share on this matter.

Cheers,

Shlomi

Trying to use HP Deskjet 3510, normally very reliable but won't print since upgrade to OS Big Sur. Tried to follow HP Easy Start procedure as suggested to uninstall previous drivers, but application detects the 3510 device then informs me no drivers are available. Has anyone else with this combo (3510/Big Sur) been able to fix the problem?

Tried the Easy Start.  It told me there were no drivers for my product.  HP Laserjet 1320.  Suggested I go to the HP website and search for solutions which I've already done.  Big Sur is a tsunami on HP printers!!

Well the problem seems to have rectified itself, though I'm not exactly sure how, as I thought I'd tried this fix before...

Anyway, I turned off the printer, then deleted it from the Macbook via Preferences. Turned it on again then clicked "add printer" which located the device first time. Then chose "Airprint", and that seems to have worked. For now at any rate......
