I am setting up new printer and the printer drivers will not download. The scanner is recognized and the printer physically works but I have no way to access the printer. Error message just says download failed and to call support. Support just keeps telling me to download drivers.  HELP!!!!

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I ended up removing all password protection and it finally accepted the download. Everything is working fine now.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

If it's a download issue, then please check your internet connection.  We can't help as it's not a printer issue.

Else, can you download using a friend's internet and then copy the file to a thumbdrive and then install on your PC?

Thanks.

The internet connection is fine. I have received my wireless IP confirmation and printer email address. The 5661 shows up in my devices but only as a scanner. I have tried troubleshooting and that still has not resolved the problem.

Hi,

Can you try the following:

Please Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR) tool to diagnose and fix your problem

Hope that helps.
