I was able to go about 2 weeks without the printer going off line, until about 20 minutes ago.  I had to remove and return power, and then go through the process of re-establishing wifi secure using the push button method to connect to the AT&T modem/router.   For now, it is back on line.

Hopefully this will do it. We'll have to wait and see.

Thanks, **bleep**.

I have been having the exact same problem and tried everything suggested here and via the print doctor utility. Printer had been working fine up until a few months back from multiple devices (Windows, Android, etc). The moment I restart the printer or reconnect to the wifi the queue drains from jobs sent from devices until most often 10-15mins later when it once again goes offline. My device is a LaserJet MFP M277dw. From the perspective of the printer all reports indicate it's happy however

Opening tickets with assisted support is not a solution for those of us who didn't pay double for extended warranties. I haven't even gone through one full toner cartridge with this thing and the warranty is expired and have no support.

@Dissatisfied555, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If the printer is connected wireless, follow the steps below-

1.  Select “Start” and type “printers” in the search box.

2.  Choose “Printers & scanners“.

3.   elect “Add a printer or scanner“.

4.  Wait for the “The printer that I want isn’t listed” option to appear, then select it.

5.   Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname” , then select “Next“.

6.   select “TCP/IP Device” in the “Device type” list.

7.  Type the hostname or the IP address of the printer. Select “Next“. To find the IP address of the printer, touch the Wi-Fi icon on the printer's control panel.

8.  Windows should find the printer if the printer is on and configured correctly. You may have to specify more information. If prompted, Select the type of network adapter installed in the printer in the “Device Type” drop-down list. You can also click “Custom” to specify custom settings for the network printer. Select “Next“.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for the suggestion. This would make sense if I was able to browse to the IP of the printer's web interface. After hours of troubleshooting, while I can't prove it, my current guess is that the problem may stem from my wireless router merging both my 2.4 and 5Ghz networks into one SSID. My theory is the printer is on the 2.4 and my devices are on the 5Ghz network. While I'm not sure why disabling/enabling wifi or restarting the printer briefly resolves the issue but that's where I'm at.

@Dissatisfied555

Could you change the SSIDs, as in having separate ones for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz?

Keep me posted.

No because I didn't buy this printer so I could hook all my phones, computers, and tablets up to an inferior wifi frequency. Does the product literature state it doesn't support 5Ghz wifi?

@Dissatisfied555

Yes, the printer only supports 2.4GHz and that is the reason I asked you to have separate SSIDs.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

I'll see if this is practical, and worst case drag a network cable across the floor until I can afford to find a replacement. Thanks for the responses.
