I am having a lot of trouble setting up my printer, adding it to my HP app and getting the wifi attached to it. I am trying to figure out how to get the IP address as well to add to app but I can’t find it and no information page is being printed

Hi @Ileana_C,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties setting up your HP printer, adding it to the HP app, and connecting it to Wi-Fi, I would request you to please follow the steps:

Reset Wireless Settings

  • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button until the light blinks.
  • This clears old Wi‑Fi profiles so you can connect fresh.

Reconnect to Wi‑Fi

  • On the printer’s control panel: Setup → Network Setup → Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your new Wi‑Fi name (SSID) and enter the password.
  • Wait until the wireless light turns solid.

Add Printer in HP Smart

  • On your phone or Mac, open HP Smart.
  • Tap Add Printer → Set Up a New Printer.
  • Follow prompts to connect the printer to Wi‑Fi and your HP account.

Find the IP Address

  • If the printer won’t print a configuration page, try these alternatives:
  • Printer Control Panel: Navigate to Setup → Reports → Network Configuration Page
  • HP Smart App: Once the printer is added, tap the printer → Printer Information → IP address.
  • Router Admin Page: Log into your router, check connected devices, and look for your printer’s name or MAC address.
  • Mac System Settings: Go to System Settings → Printers & Scanners → Select Printer → Options & Supplies → Location.
  • The IP address often appears there.

Network Configuration Page:

  • After connecting the printer to the Wi-Fi, you can print a network configuration page.
  • This page includes the IP address of your printer.
  • Typically this option is available in the Wireless or Network Settings menu on the printer's control panel.

Take care and have an amazing day!
