If your HP Officejet 4630 printer is showing as "Idle", it usually means the printer is not actively printing and may not be receiving print jobs. Here are a few steps to help resolve this:
Check Printer Status
- Make sure the printer is powered on and not in Sleep Mode.
- Tap the screen or press any button to wake it up.
Restart Devices
- Power off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds.
- Restart your computer and router.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check Connection
- If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the correct network.
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- If using USB, ensure the cable is securely connected.
Set Printer as Default
- On your computer:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP Officejet 4630 and select Set as default printer.
Clear Print Queue
- Right-click the printer icon > See what’s printing.
- Cancel all pending jobs.
- Try printing again.
Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Download and install the latest drivers from HP: Official HP® Support
