Hi @WickedRo ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer installation is stuck on "Downloading Firmware," you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your computer has a stable and active internet connection. A slow or unstable connection can lead to difficulties in downloading firmware.
Restart the Installation Process: Cancel the current installation, disconnect the USB cable (if connected), and restart the installation process. Sometimes, restarting the installation can help resolve issues.
Download Firmware Manually: Visit the official HP support website and manually download the latest firmware for your LaserJet P1102w printer. Then, during the installation process, choose the option to install firmware from a file. This ensures that you have the latest firmware and avoids potential issues with the automatic download.
Disable Firewall/Antivirus: Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software during the installation. Sometimes, security software can interfere with the downloading process.
Use a Different USB Port: If you are connecting the printer via USB, try using a different USB port on your computer. This can sometimes resolve communication issues.
Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 operating system is up to date. Install any pending updates and restart your computer before attempting the printer installation again.
Reboot Your Router: If the issue persists, try rebooting your router to ensure a fresh and stable internet connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
