Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

When you encounter the error code UA_400_EB000U0422 during a printer setup, it indicates that the printer has already been set up with a different account. Here’s how you can resolve this issue:

Log into the Correct Account:

  • If you have another HP account, try logging into that account and continue with the setup process. This error often indicates that the printer is linked to this alternative account.

I purchased the printer used and cannot access the original account.

I just had the same problem.

I found how to delete previous owner's info from my 'new' used printer, after adding it to my HP.

In the HP Smart app, click on your 'new' printer photo/name this takes you to new page (can take several minutes to upload).

You will see Home-Scan-Web-Service-Network-Tools-Settings.

Click Settings.

On the left you will see several choices, pick HP Secure Erase. Click ONLY that one.

Follow the directions.

It will remove all the former owner's info from your printer.

Then turn your printer back on, and go back and try reinstalling it.

This worked for mine, and I was able to add my 'new' used printer to my HP Ink account.

HOWEVER now I have to figure out how to get new HP INK ink, since it says the HP INK cartridges I removed from my old HP printer cannot be used in my newly installed HP printer, and it says they won't send me more INK until I get these old ones installed...
