HP smart shows the printer. I can print printer status but in windows which also sees the printer there is a message that the driver is unavailable. I tried to remove the printer, unistalled the HP smart and installed it again. It did not help.

You may need to install Full software driver with HP Easy Start

Hi, I followed the instructions and installed the full driver. However, I have the following. Please see pictures. This is very strange.  The printer was working. I do not know what happened. Also ,the printer works when printing form another computer. Diagnostic printer1.pngDiagnostic printer.png

it was very helpful to understand what is going on with the printer.

 

1. And yes, this is strange, but this could happen when Windows apply some update and break printer drivers.

 

2. Ok, looks like Windows was not able to apply that full driver because some failure, and you may need to Remove your Officejet 8020 printer from Printers > Officejet 8020 > click Remove button.

 

3. Please follow the steps to remove printers in the next video:

4.  >> Restart your computer.

 

5.  After restarting your computer, then reinstall printer using Full software driver.
