Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Setting up new all in one printer. Very slow to print. Followed troubleshooting suggest to unplug power for 60 seconds. This did speed up printing when copying, but not print commands from my Dell computer 8.1

To be able to assist you better, I'd like to know the following-

  • How is the printer connected to the computer?
  • Is there any antivirus software installed on your computer?
  • Which application are you trying to print from?

Meanwhile, follow the steps below-

 

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run the program. It will automatically diagnose and fix any printer connectivity issues.

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
