I have a HP Deskjet 1050 J410 printer using Windows 10 still. I can see the printer in the printer/scanner device; however when I go to print something that printer does not show. What should I do to get the printer to show to print.

Hi @Qtee73,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that your HP Deskjet 1050 J410 printer is visible in the devices list but does not show up in your applications for printing, try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure that the printer is powered on and connected to your computer via USB.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your HP Deskjet 1050 J410.
  • Install the drivers, and then restart your computer.

Set as Default Printer:

  • Open the Windows Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Find your HP Deskjet 1050 J410 in the list, click on it, and select "Set as default."

Restart Print Spooler Service:

  • Press Windows + R, type services. msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate "Print Spooler" in the list, right-click, and choose Restart.

Re-add the Printer:

  • If the printer does not appear, you can try removing and re-adding it.
  • In the Printers & scanners settings, click on your printer and choose "Remove device."
  • Then, click "Add a printer or scanner" and allow Windows to detect and add your printer again.

Troubleshooter:

  • Run the built-in Windows troubleshooter by going to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Select "Printer" and then click "Run the troubleshooter."

Take care and have an amazing day!
