HP Officejet 6500 Wireless

For quite some time any update that HP has sent has failed to download.  The printer works, but I do not know why updates are always failing.  How can I fix this?

Welcome to HP community.

Which operating system is installed on the computer to which this printer is connected?

How is the printer connected to the computer, USB or Wireless?

What are you trying to update?

Reply with the requested information for more assistance.

Cheers.

I have a HP model p6330f, using Win 7. 64 - bit, Ram 6.0GB, most still available.  Use USB to connect to printer.   For past year have periodically receive updates for the printer via popups from HP.  Likely around 20 or so.  Not one single update has worked, every one has failed. But says finished, and says failed.  Don't I need those?  Why would HP send out if not beneficial?

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector and printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware

Refer this HP document for the steps to update the firmware:- Click here

Let me if that helps.
